Livingston Council Proclaims November 27th “Giving Tuesday”

The Livingston Township Council issued a proclamation declaring November 27ª to be “Giving Tuesday” in Livingston and encouraging “all citizens to join together to give back to the community in any way that is personally meaningful.” Giving Tuesday is celebrated every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and is intended as a counterweight to the consumerism of Black Friday. The day celebrates giving back and helping others.

The proclamation was proposed by Livingston-based Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey (CPNJ), which operates two special needs schools, three group homes and its administrative headquarters in town. CPNJ is supported by more than 850 volunteers each year. “Livingston residents have been so wonderfully supportive of our programs,” said Amy Fagan, the agency’s Coordinator of Volunteers. “This is a great time of year to think about getting involved and giving some of your time to help others and we’re very grateful to the members of the Council for their leadership on this important issue.”

To volunteer any time, please contact Amy Fagan at (973) 821-8115 or at
