On May 6th, Horizon School hosted a Family Night featuring guest author Julie Wolfe. Her book, “My Holly” deals with her daughter with special needs from the perspective of the child’s brother. After everyone enjoyed pizza together, Julie read and discussed her book with parents, while the children had their own story time, planted flowers for Mother’s Day, and played on the Horizon School playground.
Many thanks to Julie for an inspiring and engaging evening!

jamie iPad

Horizon School recently purchased waterproof iPad cases that allow the device to be used in the school’s aquatic therapy pool. The iPad is used in the pool for a variety of purposes. It can be used as an alternative communication device, giving students who cannot speak a voice when interacting in the pool. The therapy pool also leads to increased focus and fine motor skills which help the students when using the iPad to learn, or further there therapeutic goals.
