On Saturday, May 17th, Horizon School hosted it’s second community Playground Day for special needs children and their families to promote our new Wellness Center. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather, ice cream and snacks, and making new friends! The event was held at Horizon School’s state of the art Play Park adapted for children with special needs.
During the Horizon Schools Spring Break, we held our most successful Spring Horizon Camp to date with 22 students in attendance. On Monday, the students enjoyed a trip to Verona Park where they enjoyed the sunshine while flying kites and playing soccer. On Tuesday, Miss Melissa taught a creative movement class and a hiphop class which kept the staff and students moving and grooving. Wednesday’s activities included a trip to World of Wings, where campers and staff enjoyed walking through the indoor butterfly atrium and were able to see and touch a bearded dragon lizard. Thursday’s fun concluded with a musical performance by Miss Kathy. Everyone enjoyed singing and playing instruments to some of their favorite songs. The campers also made their own pizzas and enjoyed plenty of art and craft projects. Photo Album
