Our Pillar Schools and day programs for adults are currently closed for participants. We are deeply grateful to our staff working in our group homes and our In-Home Supports program for continuing to serve our participants during this challenging time.

School & Agency News
young womens club at horizon high school
The Young Women’s Group at HHS began over 7 years ago and the members have been meeting weekly ever since. Currently there are 13 members. Although the group deals with topics important to young women such as friendship, relationships, and self-esteem,  it is a service group as well.  Each year they support various organizations through their efforts.

One of their yearly projects is a food drive each Fall. The members plan and execute the project from start to finish-soliciting donors, collecting, sorting, bagging and delivering to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.  They have also done a pet food drive to benefit St. Hubert’ s Animal Welfare Center,  a “Warm and Cozy” mitten, glove and hat drive, and single projects such as a bake sale for a family whose lives were devastated by a fire.

Some members had this to say about their group:  Jessica P:  “loves sharing with other group members and learning about people”,  Millie: ” likes being with her friends”, Maxine: “loves the projects”. Thanks to Miss Beth for providing such a wonderful opportunity to the young women of HHS!

Horizon High school students build a park with Mr. oscar

Mr. Oscar has been working with various students at Horizon High School to build a park from scratch! Oscar is using the project to teach students some valuable and important  skills.  The students used woodworking to build a beautiful arbor, gardening to plant a beautiful garden, cementing, tiling, painting and they are even building an amazing mosaic bench. Today, Shaheed was helping plant the garden and paint the arbor. They are working hard and making tremendous progress. We can’t wait to see the finished product!
