School & Agency News

Thanks to the volunteer efforts of two students from Golda Och Academy, Horizon student Mark is now able to play Xbox (video) games using the controls on his wheelchair. Volunteers Ben Soudry and Alex Rothschild worked with Horizon therapists on the project which was tested out recently — to loud cheers as Mark played a FIFA (soccer) game and made some goals. Thanks so much to Ben and Alex for their hard work to make this possible!

watson the therapy dog visits horizon high school

Horizon High School had a visit from a registered therapy dog named Watson! Watson is a friendly “Goldendoodle” a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. Students had a lot of fun petting and playing with their new friend and we would like to extend a big thank you to Watson’s owners, Janet Pereira-Spain and her husband John.
