School & Agency News

Horizon High School held it’s final adapted karate session of the year. Students received a certificate for all their hard work and dedication in the program throughout the year!  Each Monday with Master Paul Del Sordo of Hwang Karate, students worked on strength, range of motion, balance, and direction following.  This was the student’s final session of the school year, where they got to show off the skills they have been working on throughout the year! To demonstrate how much their hard work paid off they broke wooden blocks with nothing more than their hands and feet!  The students had a lot of fun with adapted karate and we are proud to see how much they accomplished in the class. The program was made possible thanks to donations made towards our Horizon High School Wheelin’ – N’ – Walkin’ Challenge!

Horizon School students got a visit from Hillside Elementary School. CPNJ partnered with the Livingston school for a Disability Awareness Project to help promote understanding of children with disabilities. CPNJ staff traveled to the school earlier in the year to run activity stations that simulated the challenges that children at Horizon School face. Hillside School then visited Horizon School this past month and together the two schools did a variety of activities. They played baseball, built towers and castles with building blocks, and even made a volcano! Students from both schools made new a lot of new friends and had a great time sharing stories about their school. Check out the pictures from the day!
