School & Agency News

Progress continues on Horizon Elementary School’s new life skills room! Once completed, our life skills room will offer a full kitchen with a stove, washer and dryer. These appliances are adapted with the use of environmental control units which can accommodate any student to make them more successful and independent in this environment. Special thanks to CPNJ’s 2020 Steps to Independence Celebration gala honoree Mike Petillo for sponsoring the room, as well as Alston Construction and their subcontractors for their pro bono work.

CPNJ’s Irvington Adult Training Center held their annual Wheelin’ – n’ – Walkin’ Challenge on Friday in Irvington Park. Congratulations to the Irvington ATC event committee (Catherine Hale, Jamie Hargis, Renee McLendon, Karima Abdul Haqq, Sharqurana Greene and Faheemah Davis). And thank you to everyone who supported the event!
