Diane was the true heart and soul of Horizon. She established a wide range of initiatives, including the annual toy drive and the Lens Crafters partnership that brought free eye care and glasses to students. There was nothing she would not due for her students and she touched the lives of hundreds of children through the years. Her caring, commitment and compassion helped to create the student-centered culture for which our schools are so now well known. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 10th, 4:00pm-8:00pm, at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston and the funeral will be Thursday, January 11th at 10:00am at Quinn Hopping.
Recently, Students from our Horizon Elementary School visited friends at Livingston’s Hillside Elementary for a holiday-themed sing-along. Students from both schools shared instruments as they played sang and danced their way into the holiday spirit. The sing-along is part of the Hillside-Horizon Helping Hands program, which creates opportunities for special needs students to interact with their non-disabled peers.
