Our Pillar Schools and day programs for adults are currently closed for participants. We are deeply grateful to our staff working in our group homes and our In-Home Supports program for continuing to serve our participants during this challenging time.
Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey and Horizon Schools are nowPillar Care Continuum and Pillar Schools
Horizon Schools serve students with multiple disabilities through a rigorous therapy program and state-of-the-art educational technology supplemented with critical program supports to create an enrichment experience that is simply unparalleled.
Horizon School’s volunteer librarians were recently honored at a “Green Eggs and Ham” breakfast to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Gene Fox, Susan Moore, Divvya Prasad and Carole Rella volunteer regularly and without their dedication our students would not have a beautiful library to enjoy on a daily basis. The volunteers were presented with their own mini truffula tree with a quote from The Lorax befitting their commitment to CPNJ- “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Mike first started at Horizon School in 2010, starting in our preschool program. In that time he has come a long way. We asked his current teacher Ms. Marie about him and she had this to say, “When Mike first started with us he had a lot of difficulty with the demands of school like sitting for structured activities, focusing on tasks, following directions, and interacting with peers. Mike is now in a Primary level class and has shown great improvements in all areas. Mike now loves to sit and work at the table and he is often the star of the group! Mike is now able to write his name and he is working on literacy, language, and number skills. He has made a lot of friends at school and enjoys helping them complete their work!”
