Families from our Spring 2019 session of JUMPSTART! (Early Intervention Therapeutic Play Group) gathered on Tuesday for a sensory language and literacy group. This group helped to build the children’s emerging communication skills by encouraging social skills and expressive language during a fun literacy activity. Therapists also introduced augmentative and alternate communication tools through the use of age appropriate literature, and incorporated gross motor and sensory activities related to the stories. This group was held in Horizon Elementary School’s bright and colorful Dr. Seuss themed library. Special thanks to all of our early intervention families for coming out and joining in the fun. If you are interested in being put on the waiting list for our fall session of JUMPSTART!, please contact Hetty Kintiroglou at (973) 740 2353 ext. 2140 or via email at hkintiroglou@cpnj.org.

Volunteers flocked to our Horizon Elementary School on Monday to read one-on-one with students as part of Horizon Elementary’s Read Across America celebration. Special thanks to Amazon, Wiss & Company, LLP, The Livingston Women’s Club, as well as everyone who turned out to share a story with our students!
